Hotels.com Review
What is Hotels.com?
Hotels.com is a travel agency that allows users to book hotels online or over the phone. Flight and vacation packages are also available on Hotels.com. Booking services are available through Hotels.com’s network of localized websites, a leading provider of hotel accommodation worldwide. Over hundreds of thousands of properties worldwide, Hotels.com offers one of the largest selections of accommodation on the internet, including both major chain hotels and independent, as well as self-catering. In terms of hotel pricing, amenities, and availability, the company is a one-stop-shop. Hotels.com is one of the most user-friendly and straightforward online travel agencies (OTAs). With a search function and customization filters compared to Google Flights, Hotels.com has a large selection of hotels to choose from. Hotels.com also offers members discounted “secret prices” and an in-house loyalty program.
Using an online travel agency such as Hotels.com to make a reservation is advantageous for several reasons. Booking through Hotels.com, on the other hand, means you can contact their customer service and have them advocate for you in the event of an issue such as an overbooked hotel or a room maintenance emergency. It will be easier to deal with the hotel on your own if this is what you’re looking for. You and the travel provider, on the other hand, have a middleman in place. To re-accommodate you, this may make it more difficult for the hotel to do so, and it may even mean that you have to go through a more complicated process. The second reason is to get a better deal on a hotel or a vacation package to save money on both the hotel and the flight. OTAs such as Hotels.com, on the other hand, can often get an extra discount for their customers. The Hotels.com rewards program is simple to understand and use. Hotels.com, on the other hand, gives you a free night when you stay ten nights at any hotel you book through the site. You can use your free night at any time and location because there are no blackout dates or properties. The only restriction is that the free night cannot be worth more than the average of your previous ten nights. Simply put, you can use your free night in a hotel that costs up to $300 if you stay five nights in a $200 hotel and five nights in a $400 hotel. On all of your Hotel.com bookings, you’ll get a ten percent refund.
Hotels.com, like Orbitz Insider Prices, offers members of its rewards program “secret prices.” They can theoretically be up to 50% off the advertised rate on other sites, although usually modest discounts. We found deals ranging from 5% to 10% in our sample searches. Hotels.com has its version of elite status for frequent travelers. However, the benefits aren’t as generous as those offered by a hotel’s program. Even the top-tier Gold status of Hotels.com, for example, does not include popular perks like free breakfast or late check-out. Despite this, some advantages can be beneficial. There are two levels of elite status: Silver and Gold. Stay ten nights in a calendar year to qualify for Silver status and 30 nights for Gold. There are some more involved price guarantees than regular members can get, priority customer service, and early access to some deals. Gold members get access to a few extra sales and room upgrades only available to Gold members. Besides being a powerful hotel search tool, Hotels.com also has a rewards program that is straightforward to use. Traveling a few nights per year may be worth your while if you’re interested in booking with Hotels.com. You’re probably better off booking directly with the hotel if you’re a member of a specific hotel group or have a hotel credit card that allows you to earn loyalty points and increase your elite status. Remember to compare prices before making a reservation, as always. Hotels.com has a great price guarantee, and you’re covered if you find a better deal elsewhere until the day before your check-in.
