What is Big Commerce?

BigCommerce is one of the most popular eCommerce platforms in terms of usability. You’ll get an email from your store’s admin when you sign up for an account. There are no tutorials or guided tours of the software once you’ve logged in. A to-do list can be found on your main dashboard page. You’ll be taken to the dashboard’s appropriate section when you select a task. Fortunately, the admin is fairly simple to use, so you shouldn’t have any trouble figuring out what you’re doing on your own. To add more product information, including descriptions, shipping information, images, inventory stats, and SEO information, toggle between the left-hand sidebar. You can easily upload your product list using BigCommerce’s bulk import options if your product information is in a spreadsheet. You can also use your admin to create and edit orders and develop cart-level discounts and coupon codes. Coupons can be applied to an entire order or specific items in a particular order. You can create even more detailed and complex deals by using cart-level discounts. The dashboard of BigCommerce gives you a quick overview of the current stats of your website. You can personalize your dashboard to show you the information you want to see the most.

Users of BigCommerce can list an unlimited number of physical and digital products. Your products can also have virtually endless variations (color, size, style, and so on) that you can assign to them. It is a significant improvement over the competition. Amazon, Instagram, Pinterest, eBay, Facebook, and Google Shopping are all pre-built integrations in BigCommerce. You can also use a single dashboard to manage your sales on all of those sites. Add integrations to accept 100+ currencies and calculate international shipping and tax rates in more than 150 countries. You can change the language of your storefront and products, as well as the language of your control panel. For BigCommerce stores, the default checkout setup is one-page checkout, which is a good thing because it encourages quick transactions. At checkout, use the Shipping Manager to show shipping rates. For different shipping zones, you can choose other shipping methods. You can apply discounts to a specific category, brand, product, or cart total with BigCommerce’s coupon and discount creator, which is highly customizable. You can also use recently viewed products, social sharing features, and product reviews to increase buyer confidence. If you want your BigCommerce store to support dropshipping, you’ll need to add an app. On the app store, you can choose from a variety of partners, including Sprocket, Doba, and AliExpress, as well as some print-on-demand services like Printful and Art of Where. It is a particularly useful and well-supported feature to have already built-in. To improve your site’s SEO rankings and provide valuable content to your customers, use your on-site blog. Automatic sitemaps, sitewide HTTPS, and search-friendly themes are among the built-in features that follow SEO best practices. Customize your header tags, URLs, title tags, and metadata to maximize your reach by taking advantage of optimized URLs and automatic sitemaps.

Stencil themes, which are pre-made templates offered by BigCommerce, are beautiful. You can edit your storefront with Stencil’s simple functions without having a lot of technical knowledge. There is no need to code anything to change colors, for example. You can, however, download a copy of your Stencil theme and start from there if you still want to play with the raw code. There are currently 12 free themes available, each with three or four different variations. You can also buy a piece for around $300, with prices ranging from $150 to $300. The theme editor does not have a drag-and-drop feature, but some integrations can help you move page elements around. For easy browsing, the integrations are well-organized into categories and subcategories. User reviews are displayed in the majority of the apps on the market. In addition, the integration tiers Preferred and Elite show how committed BigCommerce is to each of its partners. There are over 880 add-ons to choose from, and while some cost money, most of them are free to download and use. You’ll also have access to BigCommerce’s open, flexible API for developers, which is available 24 hours every day, seven days a week via email, live chat, and phone. This assistance is, fortunately, available at all levels. BigCommerce also has a lot of online self-help resources if you want to take matters into your own hands. Premium Services are available to BigCommerce Enterprise merchants. Customer feedback on the support team is still mixed, but it is trending downward.
