ChatBot Review
What is ChatBot?
A chatbot is a software that uses text messages to simulate human-like conversations with users. Its primary goal is to assist users by answering their questions. Pre-programmed responses, artificial intelligence, or both are used to power chatbots. A chatbot processes a user’s question and delivers a matching answer based on the applied mechanism. AI chatbots and rule-based are the two types of ChatBots. They can be compared to movie actors in a lighthearted way because they always follow the script like them. Rule-based chatbots respond to questions using a set of if/then rules of varying complexity. A chatbot designer defines and implements these rules. It’s worth noting at this point that rule-based chatbots aren’t aware of the conversation’s context.
“How can I reset my password?” is a question that a rule-based chatbot is asked. “it looks for keywords in the sentence that are familiar to it. The keywords, in this case, are reset and ‘password.’ The answer is then provided by matching these keywords with responses stored in its database. Suppose something outside the scope of the chatbot is presented, such as a different spelling or dialect. In that case, the chatbot may not match the question with an answer. As a result, rule-based chatbots frequently ask users to rephrase their queries. When necessary, some chatbots can transfer a user to a human agent. It’s important to note that rule-based chatbots can’t learn from previous interactions. They respond based on the information they have at the time. The only way to improve a rule-based chatbot is to give more pre-programmed responses and improve its rule-based mechanisms. The limitations of rule-based chatbots, on the other hand, make them a handy tool for businesses. The simplest to train and the cheapest to build are rule-based chatbots. They are incorporated into business strategies because they aid in the automation of customer communication. Rule-based chatbots’ behavior can also be customized from A to Z. This enables businesses to provide a consistent brand experience. A chatbot is software that can freely communicate with users using artificial intelligence. AI chatbots use machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), and sentiment analysis. They are far better conversationalists than their rule-based counterparts. To get started, AI chatbots, like rule-based chatbots, must be well-trained and equipped with predefined responses. AI chatbots can read a customer’s mood and understand multiple languages. It allows them to tailor their interactions with the user.
The way people communicate has changed dramatically as a result of technological advancements. Online messaging has primarily replaced face-to-face interactions. Businesses are forced to follow a new mode of communication due to this. Brands must provide a seamless buyer’s journey to success. They must be available to answer customer questions 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and through multiple channels. For a good reason, more and more companies are hiring chatbot conversation designers or people who know how to write engaging chatbot scenarios. As many businesses have discovered, a well-written chatbot can work as a successful lead generation tool. By assisting companies in reaching out to a larger audience with their message, it can collect newsletter subscribers, sales contacts, beta testers, or even job candidates. They provide customer service 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and allow them to solve simple problems, schedule appointments, and file complaints. Take Mastercard, for example. The company has a Messenger chatbot that allows customers to check their account transactions at any time. Chatbots allow brands to connect with many users and raise brand awareness by integrating them into social media platforms.
